On October 30, 2019, Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong met with the newly-appointed Jordanian Ambassador to China Hussam Al Husseini.

Chen Xiaodong welcomed Hussam Al Husseini on his assumption of the new post in China. He said, in recent years, our two countries have continuously deepened political mutual trust, achieved positive results in practical cooperation and increasingly intensified people-to-people and cultural exchanges. The Chinese side is willing to make concerted efforts with the Jordanian side to push for China-Jordan strategic partnership for greater progress.

Hussam Al Husseini felt greatly honored to serve as Ambassador to China. He said, the Jordanian side attaches high importance to developing its relations with China, supports the joint building of the Belt and Road Initiative and stands ready to strengthen practical cooperation with China in various areas, in a bid to push Jordan-China relations to new highs.
