Wang Yi: Consensus Should be Properly Implemented to Benefit Peoples of China and Arab Countries

On June 5 and 6, 2014, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met respectively with Foreign Ministers of Arab countries, including Egypt, Algeria, Oman, Tunisia, Lebanon, Palestine and Comoros at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. They exchanged views on such fields as China-Arab Cooperation Forum and bilateral relations.

Wang Yi extended gratitude to all parties for their contribution to the success of the 6th ministerial meeting of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum, and expressed that the important speech delivered by President Xi Jinping chartered the course for the future development of China-Arab relations. Together with all parties, China is willing to carry forward the spirit of Silk Road, implement the consensus reached during the ministerial meeting, make the achievements of collective efforts benefit people of all countries, and constantly deepen the strategic cooperation between China and Arab countries.

The Foreign Ministers of the seven countries all agreed that this ministerial meeting achieved fruitful results. For the Arab-China relations in the new times, Arab countries and China reached broad consensus, including both grand ideas and specific measures. The two sides will jointly build the “One Belt One Road”, which will guide the development of Arab-China relations and bring about win-win outcomes for both parties. Arab-China relations have entered a fast track, and they are deeply encouraged by and full of expectations for the future prospects of Arab-China cooperation.
