On March 21, 2019, Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong met with outgoing Libyan Ambassador to China Salaheddin M. I. Elbishari. Chen Xiaodong spoke positively of Salaheddin M. I. Elbishari's contributions to pushing the development of China-Libya relations during his term of office, and hoped that he will continuously care for and support the friendly cause between the two countries in the future. Salaheddin M. I. Elbishari thanked the Chinese side for providing vigorous support for him during his tenure, and expressed that he will remain committed to promoting the friendship between Libya and China as always.
