Vice Foreign Minister Zhai Jun Meets with Benin's Foreign Minister

On October 12, 2010, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhai Jun met in the Foreign Ministry with a delegation headed by Benin's Foreign Minister Jean Marie Ehouzou, who is here for an unofficial visit to China.

Zhai said in recent years, China-Benin relations have achieved substantial development based on the traditional friendship. He appreciated Benin's firm support to China on Taiwan, Tibet and other major issues concerning China's core interests and thanked Benin for standing by the Chinese people when China was faced with natural disasters and other difficulties. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China is ready to contribute to deepening China-Benin friendly cooperative relations.

Ehouzou said the two countries have maintained long-term friendship with fruitful cooperation in all areas. Benin thanks for the enormous disinterested assistance offered by the Chinese government over the years and is ready to further expand cooperation in infrastructure and other areas with China. Ehouzou reaffirmed the government of Benin firmly adheres to the one-China policy and will enhance cooperation with China in international affairs.
