Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun Meets with New Ambassador of the Central African Republic to China

On September 3, 2009, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun met in the Foreign Ministry with new Ambassador of the Central African Republic to China Emmanuel Touaboy. Zhai said since the resumption of diplomatic ties between the two countries more than ten years ago, bilateral relations have been developing smoothly with new progress made in cooperation on economy, trade, culture, education and public health. China appreciates and thanks for the support from the Central African government on issues concerning China's core interests and is ready to work with the Central African side to push forward bilateral ties.

Ambassador Touaboy said that the Central African government attaches great importance to ties with China and thanks for China's long-standing disinterested assistance. He expressed hope that both sides will enhance mutually beneficial cooperation on resources exploration and development, and agriculture. The ambassador said he is ready to play a positive role in pushing forward bilateral friendly cooperative relations during his term of office.
