Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi Meets with Cameroonian Minister of External Relations Henri Eyebe Ayissi

On August 7, 2009, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met in Beijing with Cameroonian Minister of External Relations Henri Eyebe Ayissi. Eyebe was here to co-host with China the 7th meeting of China-Cameroon Joint Economic and Trade Committee, which was scheduled between Aug. 3 and 5.

During the visit, Yang said that China and Cameroon have maintained traditional friendship and their relations have been developing in a sound and stable manner. He praised China's cooperation with Cameroon as "exemplary" in South-South cooperation. China attaches importance to developing ties with Cameroon and is ready to work with it to fully display the role of the consultations between the two Foreign Ministries, the Joint Economic and Trade Committee and other cooperation mechanisms, deepen pragmatic cooperation and push bilateral ties to one new level after another.

Eyebe made positive comments on bilateral ties and expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the 7th meeting of China-Cameroon Joint Economic and Trade Committee. He expressed hope to further deepen bilateral cooperation in all areas and push forward the ties.
