On May 20, 2019, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Xianfa attended and addressed at invitation the national day reception held by the Cameroonian Embassy in China.

In his speech, Liu Xianfa congratulated Cameroon on the 47th anniversary of the national day, and said that Cameroon is a traditional friendly country in Africa and an important cooperative partner of China. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Cameroonian side to fully implement the important consensus between the two heads of state and the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, promote the China-Cameroon friendly cooperative relations to a higher level, and join hands to build a closer community of shared future for China and Cameron and for China and Africa.

Liu Xianfa also exchanged views with Cameroonian Ambassador to China Martin Mpana on China-Cameroon relations and other topics.
