President Joseph Kabila of the Democratic Republic of Congo Meets with Foreign Minister Wang Yi

On January 16, 2015, President Joseph Kabila of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) met with Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Kinshasa.

Joseph Kabila expressed that DR Congo attaches great importance to China's important position and role and is grateful to China for its support and help in safeguarding DR Congo's sovereignty and territorial integrity as well as economic development. DR Congo hopes to make joint efforts with China to intensify bilateral cooperation in politics, economy, security and other fields and boost coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs.

Wang Yi noted that the relations between China and DR Congo, both as major developing countries, are of strategic significance. China is willing to, together with DR Congo, further boost cooperation and forge a three-dimensional cooperation pattern featuring mutual support in politics, mutual benefit and win-win result in economy and in-depth cooperation in security. China appreciates DR Congo's efforts in exploring the development path suitable to its national conditions, regards DR Congo as its important and reliable cooperation partner in Africa, and stands ready to take an active part in the modernization and industrialization process of DR Congo and further expand and strengthen bilateral practical cooperation in various fields.
