Wang Yi Meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Raymond Tshibanda of DR Congo

On July 28, 2016, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Beijing with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Raymond Tshibanda of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo), who was in China to attend the Sherpa Meeting on Implementing Outcomes of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Johannesburg Summit.

Wang Yi expressed that DR Congo is a major African country with rich natural resources and abundant human resources as well as important strategic position. China is willing to, together with DR Congo, carry forward the friendly tradition, give further play to the two advantages of political trust and economic complementarity between both countries, enhance friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, and comprehensively deepen strategic partnership between the two countries. It is hoped that DR Congo can provide security assurance to and create a sound cooperation environment for the Chinese personnel.

Raymond Tshibanda thanked China for its support to the national construction of DR Congo, and expressed that DR Congo will put its relationship with China in a very important position of the country's foreign policy. DR Congo is willing to continuously share mutual understanding and support on issues concerning each other's core interests and major concerns with China.
