On October 20, 2008, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Wu Hongbo met in the Foreign Ministry with visiting Minister of Mines and Energy of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire Monnet Leon Emmanuel.

Monnet thanked for China’s long-term sincere assistance and its support of the peace process of Cote d’Ivoire, expressing hope to enhance cooperation with China on energy and mines. He also reaffirmed his country’s firm adherence to the one-China policy.

Wu made positive comments on bilateral ties and thanked the government of Cote d’Ivoire for adhering to the one-China policy, emphasizing that China cherishes the friendship with Cote d’Ivoire and will continue to support its peace process and further strengthen bilateral cooperation in all areas.
