Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Ming Visits Côte d'Ivoire

From March 16 to 18, 2015, Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Ming visited Côte d’Ivoire, met with President Alassane Ouattara of Côte d’Ivoire and held political consultations between the two foreign ministries with Acting Foreign Minister Moussa Dosso of Côte d’Ivoire, having in-depth exchanges of views on the bilateral relations and international and regional topics of common interest.

Zhang Ming said that since the establishment of the diplomatic relationship between China and Côte d’Ivoire, the bilateral cooperation has witnessed smooth progress in fields such as politics, economy, trade and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, with fruits benefiting the two peoples. China is willing to work with Côte d’Ivoire to continuously deepen the bilateral traditional friendship, promote bilateral economic and trade cooperation and industrial connection, strengthen bilateral people-to-people and cultural exchanges and cooperation, as well as further support and coordinate with each other in the international arena, so as to promote the China-Côte d’Ivoire relations to a higher level.

The Côte d’Ivoire side thanked China for providing strong support for the economic and social development of Côte d’Ivoire, and held that Côte d’Ivoire-China cooperation has yielded fruitful results in all fields and China’s presence can be seen everywhere in Côte d’Ivoire. Côte d’Ivoire attaches great importance to developing relations with China, and is willing to further strengthen bilateral political exchanges, expand economic and trade cooperation, and deepen exchanges and cooperation in fields such as people-to-people and cultural engagement to write a new chapter in the bilateral relations.

During the visit, Vice Minister Zhang Ming also gave exclusive interviews to many local media.
