On March 18, 2015, the International Symposium on Revitalization of Africa was held in Abidjan, the economic capital of Côte d’Ivoire. Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Ming attended and addressed the opening ceremony.

Zhang Ming said that China, as a good partner, good friend and good brother of Africa, feels delighted and inspired about the development prospects of Africa, and at the same time identifies the difficulties faced by Africa during its development. China has strong political will to support Africa’s development, successful experience available for Africa to learn from, as well as capability to help Africa to realize its dream. In the new historical era, China will continue to uphold the principles of sincere friendship, equality and mutual benefit, win-win cooperation and common development, give full play to the role of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), strengthen exchanges of experience in national governance and administration of state affairs, promote bilateral cooperation in infrastructure construction and capacity, and expand constructive participation in affairs related to Africa’s peace and security, helping Africa to realize its dream of prosperity and revitalization and achieve new glories.

All parties attending the symposium spoke highly of Zhang Ming’s speech. They believed that his speech is vivid, excellent and inspiring and can help Africa have a more comprehensive understanding of China’s policy toward Africa and better learn from China’s development experience.
