Lin Songtian meets with President Lansana Conté

From May 7 to 10, 2017, Representative of Foreign Minister and Director-General of the Department of African Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Lin Songtian visited Guinea, during which he met with President Lansana Conté and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Guineans Abroad Hadja Makalé Camara of Guinea, and held working consultation with Minister of State and Advisor for Investment to the President Ibrahima Kassory Fofana. Regarding the implementation of the consensus reached by the two heads of state and the outcomes of the Johannesburg Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation as well as the deepening of the in-depth integration of China-Guinea comprehensive cooperative partnership, both sides agreed to give full play to the three major advantages of political mutual trust, people’s friendship and economic complementarities between both countries, actively advance cooperation in three major competitive industries including mining industry, agriculture and manufacturing industry, and transfer Guinea’s abundant natural and human resources into the outcomes that could benefit the two peoples, so as to better benefit people of both countries.

During the visit, Lin Songtian inspected Chinese-funded and Chinese-built projects such as Kaleta Hydropower Station, Souapiti Hydropower Station, Diamond Plaza and Hotel Kaloum, and held discussion with principals of Chinese-funded enterprises. Lin Songtian asked all enterprises to uphold the values of friendship, justice and shared interests, seize the opportunities to comply with the general trend, and make new contributions to comprehensively deepening bilateral relations. He also attended the briefing held by Chinese Embassy in Guinea and briefed over 20 local mainstream media on the new achievements of China-Guinea and China-Africa friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation as well as new prospects for the future cooperation.
