On January 24th,2002, Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan met with Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Affairs on Overseas Guinea Bissau People Madame Filomena Mascarenhas Tipote, special envoy of the President of Guinea Bisssau at the Foreign Minstry.

Tang said that the relations between the two states have grown healthily and bilateral coorperation in various fields has restored rapidly and advanced stably since they resumed their diplomatic relations in 1998. He expressed appreciation and gratitude to the Guinea Bissau government for its insistence on the One China policy and its support of China's reunification.

Tipote reiterated that Guinea Bissau government will firmly follow the One China policy.
