Vice Foreign Minister Zhai Jun Meets with New Ambassadors of Guinea-Bissau and Rwanda to China

On June 24, 2010, Vice Foreign Minister Zhai Jun met in the foreign ministry with Guinea-Bissau’s new ambassador to China Camara and Rwanda’s new ambassador to China Ngarambe. Zhai extended welcome to the two ambassadors and said that both Guinea-Bissau and Rwanda are friends of China. Over the years, China’s relations with the two countries have progressed steadily and the bilateral cooperation achieved fruitful results. Guinea-Bissau and Rwanda support China firmly on many major issues. The Chinese side appreciates that and expects to further expand bilateral cooperation in various fields.

Camara said that China is a good friend of Guinea-Bissau. He once visited China in 1963 as a freedom fighter. This is his fifth visit to China and he feels just like back home. He is willing to make greater contribution to promoting the development of bilateral relations.

Ngarambe said that China is a great friend of Africa and Rwanda. The two countries enjoy fruitful cooperation in the political, economic and investment fields. The government of Rwanda attaches importance to developing relations with China and will continue to pursue the one-China policy and push forward the development of bilateral ties. Rwanda expects to learn from China’s economic development experience, welcomes Chinese businesses to invest in the country and hopes to strengthen bilateral cooperation on technology transfer.
