On July 10, 2023, Vice Foreign Minister Deng Li met with Ugandan Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Henry Okello Oryem in Beijing.

Deng Li said that China and Uganda are comprehensive cooperative partners with solid political mutual trust and fruitful outcomes in practical cooperation in various fields. China is ready to work with Uganda to continuously enhance mutual trust, increase exchanges at all levels, and strengthen cooperation in various fields.

Henry Okello Oryem thanked China for its long-term and valuable support for Uganda and other African countries in their struggle for independence and development. He said that Uganda is deeply motivated by the current strong development momentum of Uganda-China relations and stands ready to work with China to firmly support each other and strengthen cooperation within the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, in a bid to take bilateral relations to a new level.
