On July 12, 2023, Vice Foreign Minister Deng Li met in Beijing with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Zimbabwe David Musabayana.

Deng Li said that China and Zimbabwe are comprehensive strategic cooperative partners who have always firmly supported each other, and cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful outcomes. China is ready to work with Zimbabwe to further enhance political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation, and strengthen coordination and cooperation on multilateral affairs.

David Musabayana said that Zimbabwe firmly supports the one-China policy, thanks China for its long-term support to Zimbabwe in developing the economy and opposing illegal sanctions by the United States and other Western countries, and stands ready to work with China to strengthen cooperation in various fields, so as to constantly bring bilateral relations to new levels.
