Li Keqiang Meets with Chad's Foreign Minister

On October 13, 2011, Vice Premier Li Keqiang met with Chad's Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and International Cooperation Moussa Faki Mahamat in Ziguangge, Zhongnanhai.

Li Keqiang said that since China and Chad resumed diplomatic relations five years ago, bilateral relations have developed smoothly with deepening political mutual trust, dynamic friendly exchanges at all levels, fruitful pragmatic cooperation in energy, infrastructure and other areas and expanding cultural exchanges. The Chinese government is willing to continue working with Chad to further tap cooperation potential, expand cooperation scale, broaden areas of cooperation and maintain the sound development momentum of bilateral relations, so as to bring more benefits to the two peoples.

Li Keqiang said that strengthening China-Africa friendly cooperative relations is an important cornerstone of China's foreign policy, as well as China's long-term firm strategic choice. China will work with African countries including Chad to make good use of China-Africa Cooperation Forum and other cooperation mechanisms and platforms and continuously promote the new China-Africa strategic partnership to a new level.

Faki said Chad appreciates China's valuable assistance for its economic and social development. Chad is ready to further strengthen political mutual trust with China, keep close high-level exchanges, deepen pragmatic cooperation, continuously consolidate and enhance the friendship between the two peoples and remain committed to developing long-term strategic cooperative partnership. Faki spoke highly of China's active contributions to economic and social development of African countries and fulfillment of the Millennium Development Goals within the framework of China-Africa Cooperation Forum.
