Wang Yi Meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs Hissein Brahim Taha of Chad

On December 6, 2017, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Beijing with Minister of Foreign Affairs Hissein Brahim Taha of Chad.

Speaking highly of the achievements made in the development of China-Chad relations in recent years, Wang Yi expressed that China will, under the guidance of the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), continue carrying out the correct viewpoint of righteousness and benefit and the principle of sincerity, real results, affinity and good faith put forward by President Xi Jinping, and work together with Chad to well implement the important consensus on bilateral relations reached by the two heads of state, in a bid to help Chad achieve sustainable economic and social development and elevate China-Chad friendly and cooperative relations to higher levels.

Hissein Brahim Taha warmly congratulated on the successful convening of the 19th CPC National Congress, and said that China and Chad have achieved tangible results since the resumption of diplomatic relations. He thanked China for its precious support and assistance to the national construction of Chad as always. Chad looks forward to further strengthening cooperation with China under the frameworks of the "Belt and Road" initiative as well as the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, so as to bring more benefits to the two countries and the two peoples.

Both sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.

Hissein Brahim Taha was invited to China to attend the second session of China-Chad Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade this time.
