On April 19, 2018, Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong met with outgoing South Sudanese Ambassador to China Michael Milli Hussein.

Speaking positively of Michael Milli Hussein's contributions to promoting the development of China-South Sudan relations during his term of office, Chen Xiaodong hoped that he could continuously care for and support the cause of bilateral friendship after leaving his office. Michael Milli Hussein appreciated China's precious support for his fulfillment of duties during his tenure, and expressed that he will continue making contributions to South Sudan-China friendship and cooperation.
