On May 17, 2010, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Cheng Guoping met with a delegation headed by the head of Directorate of Consular Affairs of the Albanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is here in Beijing for the first round of China-Albania bilateral consular consultations. Albanian Ambassador to China Maxhun Peka was present at the meeting. Both sides spoke highly of bilateral ties, pledging to actively conduct consular cooperation, enhance and facilitate personnel exchanges between the two countries and push forward China-Albania traditional friendship.

Following the meeting, the delegations of both sides held consultations in a candid, friendly and pragmatic atmosphere with positive outcome achieved.
