On August 21, 2012, Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held talks with Albanian Foreign Minister Edmond Panariti, who is on an official visit to China.

Yang pointed out that the two countries enjoy profound traditional friendship. China is willing to maintain multi-level personnel exchanges with Albania, push forward pragmatic cooperation in economic, trade and other fields and strengthen cultural exchanges based on the spirit of cementing friendship and strengthening cooperation, so as to promote the in-depth development of bilateral relations.

Panariti said Albania attaches importance to relations with China from a strategic perspective and is ready to work with China to improve mutually beneficial cooperation. He welcomed more Chinese companies to invest in Albania.

The two ministers also exchanged views on the European situation and other issues of common concern.
