On December 3, 2020, Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang attended upon invitation the National Day reception marking the 108th anniversary of the independence of Albania held by the Albanian Embassy in China.

Qin Gang congratulated on the National Day of Albania and said in his message that China and Albania enjoy traditional friendship as Albania was one of the countries which firstly established diplomatic ties with China. It also made great contribution to the resumption of China's legitimate seat at the United Nations in 1971. In recent years, both countries have taken the opportunity of the Belt and Road cooperation and the China-CEEC Cooperation, expanded mutually beneficial cooperation and helped each other in front of such challenges as major natural disasters and the sudden and unexpected COVID-19 pandemic. Mutual respect and equal treatment has always been the fundamental principle for the healthy and stable development of China-Albania relations. No matter how the international situation changes, we need to adhere to this principle, enhance mutual trust and further develop our traditional friendship. We need to forge ahead to promote the Belt and Road cooperation and expand practical cooperation. We need to uphold multilateralism, safeguard international fairness and justice and the interests of developing countries, and build a community with a shared future for mankind.
