State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan Meets Vice President Ivan Tomljenovic of the Republic of Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina

On September 11, 2003, State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan met with visiting Vice President Ivan Tomljenovic of the Republic of Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina and his delegation at Zhongnanhai.

The two sides expressed satisfaction with the good momentum of development of China-Bosnia and Herzegovina relations. Tang pointed out that the Chinese government attaches importance to relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina, and believes that to strengthen exchanges with the Republic of Srpska is an important part of deepening the general relations between China and Bosnia and Herzegovina. China would like to further promote mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Bosnia and Herzegovina in all fields. Tang thanked Bosnia and Herzegovina for its consistent adherence to the One China policy.

Tomljenovic said that Bosnia and Herzegovina has traditional friendly relations with China, would like to strengthen bilateral cooperation under new circumstances, highly appreciates China's consistent principled position on the issue of Bosnia and Herzegovina, believes Taiwan is an integral part of China's territory, would continue to firmly support China's reunification cause, and would not support "Taiwan independence" under any circumstances.
