On April 29, 2004, Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing met with Deputy Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Mrs. Lidija Topic at Diaoyutai State Guest Hotel.

Li stressed that the Chinese government attaches great importance to developing its relations with BiH. The Chinese side would like to continue to expand its cooperation with BiH in various fields in line with such principles as mutual respect, equality, mutual benefit and non-interference in each other's internal affairs. China respects the efforts of BiH to establish a state with various nationalities living together in harmony, understands its policy of involving itself into the European integration process and appreciates its adherence to the one-China principle.

While expressing her thanks for China's support for the peace process of BiH, Topic indicated BiH's willingness to enhance its cooperation with China in political affairs, economy and trade as well as some other aspects, and its welcome for Chinese enterprises to invest in BiH and to take part in its economic reconstruction. Topic also conveyed the greetings from BiH's Foreign Minister Mladen Ivanic and his invitation for Li to visit BiH.
