On September 4, 2015, President Xi Jinping met with Chairman Dragan Čović of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Great Hall of the People.

Xi Jinping thanked Dragan Čović for attending the commemorations marking the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War in China, and pointed out that the heroic deeds of the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the World Anti-Fascist War are also familiar to the Chinese people. Xi Jinping stressed that Bosnia and Herzegovina is China's reliable good friend in Central and Eastern Europe. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Continuously following the principles of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefits, China is willing to work with Bosnia and Herzegovina to constantly promote the bilateral friendly relations for greater development. Both sides should consolidate the foundation of political mutual trust, maintain high-level exchanges and dialogues at all levels, and enhance mutual understanding. Both sides should tap the potential of practical cooperation, discuss the connection of their development strategies, and enrich the connotation of practical cooperation. Both sides should also actively expand people-to-people and cultural exchanges so as to reinforce the social and public opinion basis of the bilateral relations.

Dragan Čović said that it was a great honor to attend the commemorations marking the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War in China. They appreciate that China sent positive messages to the international community through the commemorations, and congratulate China on the full success of the commemorations. He is very glad to visit China at the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and China. Bosnia and Herzegovina is willing to actively promote bilateral cooperation in fields such as economy, trade, investment, energy and infrastructure and enhance people-to-people and cultural exchanges between both countries.
