Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Haixing Visits Bosnia and Herzegovina for Political Consultations Between Two Foreign Ministries

From January 22 to 24, 2016, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Haixing visited Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), met with Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Mirko Šarović of BiH, and held political consultations between the two Foreign Ministries with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Josip Brkić of BiH.

Liu Haixing said that in recent years, China and BiH have witnessed frequent high-level exchanges and achieved positive fruits in practical cooperation in various fields. China attaches great importance to developing relations with BiH, and is willing to work together with BiH to intensify the implementation of the important consensus reached by leaders of both countries, consolidate political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation in various fields and strengthen coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs to promote the bilateral traditional friendly relations for new and greater development. The BiH side said that BiH is willing to keep the momentum of high-level exchanges with China, jointly promote the construction of the "Belt and Road" and "16+1 cooperation", continuously expand bilateral cooperation in fields such as economy, trade, energy, infrastructural construction and people-to-people and cultural engagement. Both sides also exchanged views on international and regional situation and topics of common interest.
