On September 14, 2016, President Xi Jinping accepted credentials presented by 11 new ambassadors to China at the Great Hall of the People. They were Ambassador to China Leonidas Rokanas of Greece, Ambassador to China Karran Bayney of Guyana, Ambassador to China Rudy Kiryl of Belarus, Ambassador to China Dembo Badjie of Gambia, Ambassador to China Marten Kokk of Estonia, Ambassador to China Oscar Rueda Garcia of Colombia, Ambassador to China Aires Ali of Mozambique, Ambassador to China Damba Gankhuyag of Mongolia, Ambassador to China Anna Lindstedt of Sweden, Ambassador to China Marcos Caramuru de Paiva of Brazil, as well as Ambassador to China Anton Rill of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Xi Jinping welcomed the ambassadors to assume their new posts in China, and expressed that the Chinese government will provide convenience and support for their fulfillment of duties. It is hoped that all the ambassadors will make positive contributions to relations between China and their respective countries. Xi Jinping pointed out that China attaches importance to is relations with all relevant countries and is ready to further deepen friendship and mutual trust, and enhance practical cooperation in order to better benefit the Chinese people and peoples of all other sides. Xi Jinping asked them to convey his sincere greetings and best wishes to the leaders and peoples of their countries.

The foreign ambassadors conveyed sincere greetings from their state leaders to Xi Jinping and expressed good wishes to the Chinese people for the Mid-Autumn Festival. They congratulated China on successfully hosting the G20 Hangzhou Summit and expressed that their countries highly value the relations with China. They feel greatly honored to serve as ambassadors to China, and will devote themselves to promoting mutually beneficial cooperation between their countries and China, as well as deepening mutual understanding and friendship between their peoples and the Chinese people, so as to constantly promote the relations between all relevant countries and China to new highs.
