From July 4 to 5, 2023, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on European Affairs Wu Hongbo visited Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), during which he met with BiH Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković, held a collective meeting with the BiH Presidency Member's Advisers, and had discussions and exchanges with members of the Friendship Group for Asia of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.

The two sides mainly exchanged views on China-BiH relations, the Belt and Road cooperation, European security architecture, and other international and regional issues of mutual interest and concern. Special Representative Wu Hongbo gave positive comments that practical cooperation between the two countries is about to get an early harvest. Both sides agreed to further increase personnel exchanges, and deepen and substantiate practical cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
