On July 19, 2007, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held talks with his visiting Macedonian counterpart Antonio Milososki in Beijing.

Yang said China attaches importance to developing ties with Macedonia and is ready to work with it to further strengthen political dialogue and expand economic, trade, cultural and educational cooperation to push the existing friendly cooperation to a higher level. Milososki said China, with its rapid economic growth, is playing an important role in international affairs. The Macedonian government gives top priority to ties with China and will firmly adhere to the one-China policy and support China's reunification.

The two also exchanged their views on the regional situation and other issues of common concern.
