Vice Foreign Minister Song Tao Meets with Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister Peshevski

On April 24, 2013, Song Tao, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Secretary-General of China-Central and Eastern Europe Cooperation Secretariat, met with Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Peshevski, who is visiting China as guest of the Macedonian Embassy in China. The two sides exchanged views mainly on Sino-Macedonian relations, China-Central and Eastern Europe cooperation and other issues.

Song said China attaches importance to bilateral relations and appreciates Macedonia's efforts in actively promoting China-Central and Eastern Europe cooperation. China-Central and Eastern Europe Cooperation is advancing smoothly and provides a new platform for China to deepen the bilateral relations with central and eastern European countries, he said, adding it also contributes to the development of the overall China-Europe relations.

Peshevski made positive comments on the relations between both sides. He said his country is willing to expand the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides in economy, trade and other areas based on China-Central and Eastern Europe Cooperation.

Peshevski extended condolences over the earthquake in Lushan, Sichuan Province on behalf of the Macedonian government, for which Song expressed thanks.
