Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski of Macedonia

On the morning of November 26, 2015, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Great Hall of the People with Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski of Macedonia, who was in China for the 4th Summit of China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC).

Li Keqiang expressed that Macedonia is trustworthy good friend and good partner of China in Southeast Europe. Both sides should continuously expand mutually beneficial, reciprocal and practical cooperation on the basis of mutual respect, mutual trust and mutual support so as to push bilateral relations to a new level.

Li Keqiang pointed out that China will advance cooperation with Macedonia in infrastructure construction and industrialization, and actively participate in Macedonia's key projects such as railway upgrading, expressway and power stations; expand and broaden production capacity cooperation with Macedonia and support Chinese enterprises to take part in the construction of cement plants and industrial parks in Macedonia; innovate cooperation modes and expand bilateral trade in agricultural products.

Nikola Gruevski expressed that the facts have proven that the 16+1 cooperation put forward by China is a good initiative and plays an important role in promoting CEEC-China cooperation. The present CEEC-China all-round cooperation is yielding fruitful results, and the Macedonia-China practical cooperation is featured by mutual benefit and win-win result. The Macedonian side hopes Chinese enterprises take an active part in constructing such projects as hydropower stations, fuel gas network, transportation, industrial parks, food, cement and metal processing in Macedonia.
