On November 26, 2015, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Beijing with Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki of Macedonia, who was accompanying Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski of Macedonia to attend the 4th Summit of China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) in China.

Wang Yi expressed that China-Macedonia relations enjoy a sound development. China insists that countries, big or small, should stick to the principle of equal treatment, and highly values the bilateral relations. China is willing to, together with Macedonia, actively implement the consensus reached by leaders of both countries and advance the establishment of a long-term and stable friendly relationship. It is hoped that the Macedonian side can continue to actively participate in China-CEEC cooperation and support the building of China-Europe land-sea express line so as to achieve mutual benefits and multi-win results.

Nikola Poposki congratulated China on the complete success of the CEEC-China Summit in Suzhou, and hopes to strengthen practical cooperation in infrastructure, industrial parks and other areas with China, deepen people-to-people and cultural exchanges and adopt measures to facilitate personnel exchanges. The Macedonian side stands ready to make constant contribution to CEEC-China cooperation.
