Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Zoran Zaev of Macedonia

On the evening of July 7, 2018 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met at the hotel where he stayed in Sofia with Prime Minister Zoran Zaev of Macedonia.

Li Keqiang expressed that China is ready to maintain exchanges at all levels and deepen cooperation in various fields with Macedonia. Since Macedonia boasts obvious geographical advantages, transportation infrastructure is one of the key areas for practical cooperation between the two countries. China is willing to actively support the construction of arteries of transportation in Macedonia and its surrounding areas, which is conducive to promoting regional connectivity and trade development.

Li Keqiang pointed out that China and Macedonia are both developing countries. China is willing to provide assistance to Macedonia within its capacity and support more Chinese enterprises in engaging in the construction of relevant projects in Macedonia, and welcomes more quality agricultural products from Macedonia to enter the Chinese market.

Zoran Zaev expressed that Macedonia-China relations enjoy sound development. Macedonia firmly supports the one-China policy and is willing to, together with China, further strengthen high-level exchanges, promote practical cooperation, especially in such areas as highways, infrastructure, energy, electricity and culture, and actively participate in the "16+1 cooperation".
