On October 12, 2023, President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory messages with President of the Republic of North Macedonia Stevo Pendarovski on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Xi Jinping pointed out that over the past 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and North Macedonia, the two sides have constantly deepened political mutual trust, renewed traditional friendship, accumulated valuable  experience in bilateral cooperation in infrastructure development, mutual learning of civilizations, health and other fields, and achieved fruitful outcomes, for which Xi expressed deep appreciation. Xi Jinping said that he attaches great importance to the development of China-North Macedonia relations and is ready to work with President Pendarovski to continuously strengthen political guidance of the relationship, deepen mutual trust, friendship and cooperation between the two sides, and take the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as a new starting point to jointly strive for a bright future of China-North Macedonia relations and bring more benefits to the two peoples.

Pendarovski said that over the past 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between North Macedonia and China, the two sides have respected each other's choice of development strategies and maintained increasingly close cooperation in various fields. The two countries share common interests and boast huge potential for cooperation. North Macedonia is ready to strengthen cooperation with China to promote common development and improve people's well-being.
