From October 4 to October 7, 2019, President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory messages respectively with the heads of state of Bulgaria, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland, celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the six countries.

On behalf of the Chinese government and the Chinese people, Xi Jinping extended warm congratulations and good wishes to the governments and peoples of the six countries. Xi Jinping pointed out, the six countries are among the first group of countries to recognize and establish diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China. Over the past seven decades, China and the six countries have pushed forward their relations in line with the principles of mutual respect, equality, mutual benefit and win-win results, and brought tangible benefits to their peoples. Nowadays, both sides enjoy close high-level exchanges, fruitful cooperation in various fields and colorful people-to-people exchanges. In the new era, relations between China and the six countries are facing new and broader prospects. I attach great importance to the development of relations between China and the six countries, and stand ready to join hands with the heads of state of the six countries to lift our traditional friendly and cooperative relations to higher levels by taking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as a new starting point and seizing the opportunities created by the joint building of the Belt and Road Initiative and cooperation between China and the Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC).

The heads of state of the six countries said, relations between their respective countries and China have withstood the tests both of time and of the vicissitudes in the international arena, and achieved substantial development and fruitful results over the past 70 years. The six countries spoke highly of the splendid achievements China has made in the course of pursuing modernization and realizing the Chinese Dream, and attached great importance to their countries' relations with China. Cherishing the traditional friendships with China, they are willing to comprehensively strengthen bilateral exchanges and cooperation with China to push forward the joint building of the Belt and Road Initiative and China-CEEC cooperation.

Premier Li Keqiang also exchanged congratulatory messages with Prime Ministers of the six countries. Li Keqiang said, the Chinese side stands ready to work with the six countries to take the 70th anniversary as an opportunity to deepen political trust mutual, promote practical cooperation in various fields, and push for greater progress in the joint building of the Belt and Road Initiative, China-CEEC cooperation and China-European Union cooperation, to further realize mutual benefit and multi-win outcomes. Prime Ministers of the six countries expressed the willingness to continuously lift the level of practical cooperation with the Chinese side and jointly create a promising future for bilateral relations and for China-CEEC cooperation.
