On April 9, 2014, Vice Foreign Minister Wang Chao met with Radu Podgorean, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania. Wang Chao spoke positively the present bilateral relationship between China and Romania. He hoped that both sides will work together to effectively promote practical cooperation in economy and trade, people-to-people and cultural engagement and other fields, to push forward the bilateral relations to a new high. Podgorean said that Romania attaches great importance to developing relations with China and is willing to join hands with China, taking the opportunity of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Romania-China diplomatic relationship, to further deepen cooperation between Romania and China as well as between China and the Central and Eastern European countries.
