On February 17, 2017, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Haixing met with outgoing Romanian Ambassador to China Doru Romulus Costea. Liu Haixing spoke positively of Doru Romulus Costea's contributions to boosting the development of China-Romania relations during his tenure, and hoped that he could continuously care for and support the development of bilateral relations and "16+1 cooperation" in the future. Doru Romulus Costea thanked China for providing precious support during his tenure, and expressed that he will continuously contribute to bilateral friendship after leaving his post.
