On the afternoon of July 6, 2018 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met at the hotel where he stayed in Sofia with Prime Minister Ana Brnabić of Serbia.

Li Keqiang expressed that the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Serbia has developed smoothly. China is willing to continue to maintain close communication and coordination with Serbia so as to promote the in-depth development of China-Serbia relations and cooperation in various areas.

Li Keqiang pointed out that a solid foundation has been laid for the practical cooperation between China and Serbia. Smooth progress has been made since the beginning of the reconstruction of the Belgrade-Stara Pazova segment of the Belgrade-Budapest Railway, a flagship project of the "16+1 cooperation". China and Serbia should continue to work together and make progress practically. The project of Smederevo steel plant of HBIS GROUP Serbia Iron & Steel LLC Belgrade is a successful example of China-Serbia cooperation and even of cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries in large production capacity projects. China is willing to continue to push forward bilateral cooperation in various areas with Serbia in a sustainable and vigorous manner.

Ana Brnabić expressed that the practical cooperation between Serbia and China is making progress steadily. The project of Smederevo steel plant of HBIS GROUP Serbia Iron & Steel LLC Belgrade enjoys sound development, with increasing profits every year. Serbia is willing to continue to advance the construction of the Belgrade-Budapest Railway with China, making it an important node of China-Europe connectivity. Chinese enterprises are welcome to continue to participate in the construction of projects covering mineral, energy, heat supply and infrastructure in Serbia. Serbia has issued a visa-free policy for Chinese tourists, welcoming more tourists from China to boost bilateral people-to-people and cultural exchanges.
