State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in Munich on 14 February.

President Vučić said that the brotherly friendship between Serbia and China is of great importance to Serbia. Serbia will never forget the sincere help offered by China when Serbia was facing difficulties, and will remain forever a trustworthy and reliable partner for China. He offered to help China whenever there is any need or difficulty. He commended the Chinese people's all-out efforts to fight the epidemic under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, and expressed his readiness to visit China anytime to demonstrate with concrete actions his firm support to the Chinese people. He asked the State Councilor to convey the respects to President Xi and the Chinese people from the Serbian people whose hearts are always with China and the Chinese people.

State Councilor Wang started by conveying cordial greetings from President Xi and thanked the President for sending a message of condolences to President Xi immediately after the epidemic broke out. He said that the President's touching remarks fully testify to the brotherhood between two countries that have been through thick and thin together. He appreciated the President's words that Serbia would stand firmly with China no matter what difficulty China and its people may encounter. He said China is proud of having a good friend like Serbia.

Wang noted the positive progress China has made in combating the epidemic. He shared his confidence that with the efforts of the Chinese people and with the firm support from all sides including Serbia, it is only a matter of time before China ultimately wins the battle. Wang added that although small in size, Serbia stands tall among the nations as a country that values principle, friendship and integrity. Such a country will always have China by its side.
