Wang Huning Meets with President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić

On October 17, 2023, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wang Huning met with President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić who is in China to attend the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing.

Wang Huning said that China and Serbia have solid political mutual trust, and Belt and Road cooperation has yielded fruitful outcomes. More than 1.4 billion Chinese people have a friendly sentiment towards Serbia, and firmly support Serbia in safeguarding its sovereignty and security, and defending state interests and national dignity. China is ready to work with Serbia to follow through on the important common understandings reached by the two heads of state and outcomes of the Forum, deepen practical cooperation, and advance the sustained development of China-Serbia relations. The National Committee of the CPPCC is ready to work with Serbia to inject positive energy into deepening the China-Serbia comprehensive strategic partnership.

Aleksandar Vučić said that Serbia and China have high-level mutual trust and sincere friendship, and that he feels at home every time he visits China. Serbia keenly remembers China's strong support and help, remains firmly committed to friendliness towards China, and will continue to support and actively participate in a series of global initiatives put forth by President Xi Jinping.

Hu Chunhua, Mu Hong and Wang Dongfeng were present at the meeting.
