On November 30, 2016, Director-General of the Department of Arms Control of the Foreign Ministry Wang Qun met in Beijing with incoming President of the 1st session of the Preparatory Committee for the 10th Review Conference of Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) and Ambassador for Disarmament of the Netherlands Henk Cor van der Kwast, who was on a working visit to China. Both sides exchanged in-depth views on preparations for the 1st session of the Preparatory Committee for the 10th NPT Review Conference, nuclear disarmament, nuclear non-proliferation, a zone free of weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East and other topics. At the invitation of China Arms Control and Disarmament Association, Henk Cor van der Kwast also held discussions with relevant Chinese experts and scholars.
