Foreign Minister Wang Yi Holds Talks with Jean Asselborn, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg

On July 29, 2013, Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks in the Foreign Ministry with Jean Asselborn, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg.

Wang Yi said that Luxembourg is friendly to China and China-Luxembourg relationship can definitely be regarded as an example of relations between two countries with differences in national conditions, ideology and level of development. China is willing to work with Luxembourg to continuously deepen political mutual trust, to vigorously promote practical cooperation and to enhance coordination in international affairs so as to jointly push forward the development of China-EU relations. Wang Yi thanked Luxembourg for supporting China's position on the PV trade dispute between China and the EU. He appreciates and welcomes the price undertaking deal recently reached between China and the EU, stressing that the deal conforms to the interests of China and the EU, and is also beneficial for the recovery of world economy.

Asselborn extended congratulations to China on the conclusion of the price undertaking deal reached between China and the EU to solve the PV trade dispute. He stressed that as important cooperative partners, China and the EU adhering to opening markets to each other is of great significance to both sides. Asselborn expressed that China is one of the most important countries in the world. Luxembourg hopes to carry out more cooperation with China in the fields of finance, investment, communications, agriculture, food and tourism. As a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, Luxembourg is willing to enhance communication and coordination with China on UN affairs.
