Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Xavier Bettel of Luxembourg

In the morning of October 11 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met with Prime Minister Xavier Bettel of Luxembourg before attending the Hamburg Summit of China-Europe Forum.

Li Keqiang said that China-Luxembourg relations can be described as a model of friendly co-existence between Eastern and Western countries with different size and population. The two countries enjoy high-level political mutual trust, vigorous economic cooperation and in-depth financial cooperative relations. China is willing to expand communication and dialogue and deepen practical cooperation with Luxembourg to inject more vigor into bilateral relations.

Li Keqiang stressed that China attaches importance to the status and role of Luxembourg as an international financial center, encourage the expansion of the use of local currency in bilateral trade and investment, and support Luxembourg to develop off-shore RMB market. I welcome financial institutions and manufacturing enterprises in Luxembourg to invest in China and hope Luxembourg provide convenience for Chinese enterprises investing and operating in the country.

Xavier Bettel expressed that Luxembourg-China relations enjoy mutual respect, mutual benefits and win-win results, and are always full of vigor. Luxembourg is willing to enhance cooperation with China in finance and other fields and serve as a gateway for Chinese enterprises and financial institutions to enter Europe and Euro zone, and welcomes more Chinese enterprises and banks to develop in the country and will provide convenience in this regard. Luxembourg stands ready to play a positive driving role in the development of Europe-China relations.
