On June 22, 2017, Vice Foreign Minister Wang Chao attended at invitation the reception for the National Day of Luxembourg and the outgoing Ambassador of Luxembourg to China held by the Embassy of Luxembourg to China, and exchanged views with Ambassador of Luxembourg to China Paul Steinmetz on China-Luxembourg relations.
