On August 25, 2015, Vice Foreign Minister Wang Chao attended at invitation the opening ceremony of photo exhibition on marine environmental protection held by Monaco with Head of State Prince Albert II of Monaco.

Wang Chao welcomed the presence of Prince Albert II at the 15th World Athletics Championships in Beijing as a member of the International Olympic Committee. Wang Chao stated that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Monaco. Since the establishment , the China-Monaco relations have achieved a smooth development. China is willing to enhance communication and cooperation with Monaco in sports, environmental protection, climate change and other fields so as to further advance bilateral relations.

Prince Albert II stated that he was pleased to come to China again and present at the World Athletics Championships. He appreciated China for its warm reception and considerate arrangement. Monaco is willing to take the opportunity of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations to promote the bilateral relations and cooperation in all sectors to a new level.
