Governor General and Prime Minister of Barbados Meets with Li Zhaoxing

On October 1, 2004, Governor General Husbands, Prime Minister Arthur and Vice Prime Minister Mottley met with the visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing respectively. Deputy Foreign Minister of Barbados Simonz held talks with Li.

The two sides exchanged in depth views on such issues as bilateral relations, the relations between China and countries in the Caribbean region and UN reform and broad consensus were reached. The leadership of Barbados reaffirmed that Barbados supports China's stand on the Taiwan Question and firmly upholds the one China policy. Li appreciated this. Li also met with the journalists together with Prime Minister of Barbados, during which questions such as bilateral relations were answered.
