On May 26, 2012, Vice Foreign Minister Xie Hangsheng attended the celebrations on the 35th anniversary of China-Barbados diplomatic ties held by Barbados Ambassador to China Lloyd Sandiford.

Sandiford spoke highly of the substantial development of bilateral ties since the establishment of diplomatic relations and thanked for China’s help and assistance for Barbados’ economic and social development. He said his country hopes to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with China to benefit both peoples.

Xie said that since China and Barbados established diplomatic relations 35 years ago, bilateral ties have enjoyed sustained, stable and healthy development and cooperation in all areas is fruitful. The Chinese side is willing to take the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity and work with Barbados to push forward bilateral ties.
