On December 13th, Chinese Ambassador to Barbados, H. E. Mr. Xu Hong paid a visit to the Nation Corporation Group and met with the publisher & CEO, Ms. Vivian-Anne Gittens.

Ms. Gittens introduced the group's history, organizational structure and the core values including press freedom and making voice for common people. She said she was impressed with the great developments of China where she paid another visit to in November, 2011. And because of the friendship between China and Barbados, she hoped that the two countries could deepen the mutual benefit cooperation on tourism and renewable energy.

Ambassador Xu expressed thanks to Ms. Gittens' introduction, and indicated that the press played an important role in promoting the friendship and mutual understanding between the people of the two countries. He expressed that he was looking forward to enhancing the communication and cooperation with the Nation Corporation to contribute to the healthy development of the relationship between China and Barbados.

After the meeting, Ambassador Xu was invited to visit the work area of the Nation newspaper, and had a warm and friendly talk with two journalists who had visited China before.
