From March 21 to March 23, 2016, Vice Foreign Minister Wang Chao paid a visit to Barbados, during which he held talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Maxine McClean of Barbados, and called on Prime Minister Freundel Stuart of Barbados, exchanging views on further deepening bilateral relations, strengthening communication and cooperation in various fields and other topics.

During the visit, Wang Chao also attended the commencement ceremony of maintenance project of National Stadium aided by China, and signed the Treaty on Criminal Judicial Assistance and Extradition Treaty between the two countries with Acting Attorney-General and Minister of Home Affairs Michael Lashley of Barbados.
